The Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC) is pleased to welcome the Reubin O’D. Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University as its newest member. As part of NACC’s international network of leading academic centers focused on nonprofit management, philanthropy, and voluntary action, the Askew School joins a distinguished community dedicated to advancing research, education, and leadership in the nonprofit sector.
Founded in 1947, the Askew School is one of the oldest public administration programs in the United States and is recognized for its top-ranked master’s degree in public administration in Florida. The school emphasizes ethical leadership and integrates theory with practice to prepare students for impactful careers in public and nonprofit management. With a highly regarded faculty known for both their scholarly contributions and practical experience, the Askew School offers diverse specializations, including nonprofit management, evidence-based policymaking, and emergency management. Its location in Tallahassee, a hub of policy innovation, further enriches the learning experience.
We also extend a warm welcome to Dr. David Berlan, who will serve as the NACC Member Representative for the Askew School. An associate professor with expertise in nonprofit management and financial management, Dr. Berlan’s research focuses on the evolution of nonprofit organizations and their networks, particularly within global health and development contexts. His insights and leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our community.
