Description: The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS) aims to bring to the community the benefits of teaching, research, technology and service relevant to philanthropic and nonprofit communities. Combined with our strong industry links and unique and practical teaching, we stay at the leading edge of knowledge, providing our students with a teaching and research environment that is up to date and relevant to the needs of students interested in pursuing careers in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors.

Representative Bio: Professor Myles McGregor-Lowndes OAM has written extensively about nonprofit tax and regulation, nonprofit legal entities, government grants and standard charts of accounts as a means of reducing the compliance burden. He is a founding member of the ATO Charities Consultative Committee and the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission Advisory Board. In June 2003, Myles was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) For service to the community by providing education and support in legal, financial and administrative matters to nonprofit organisations. Memberships include: Queensland Law Society, National Law Institute, Hon. member of Fundraising, Institute, Australia, Founding Director, Australian and New Zealand Third Sector Research Limited, Member of International Third Sector Research, Member of Association for Research on Voluntary and Nonprofit Associations.
