NACC Representative: Michelle Wooddell, Ph.D.

Representative Bio: Dr. Michelle Wooddell earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from The University of Michigan, her masters of public administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and her doctorate in political science, with an emphasis in public administration and nonprofit management from Wayne State University. She has extensive work experience in the nonprofit sector, including 11 years at the Detroit Historical Society where she served as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of the Comprehensive Campaign. In 2013, she formed her own firm, Cobblestone Solutions, LLC, to assist nonprofit organizations with projectbased fundraising, marketing and management needs. In August 2014, she joined the faculty of Grand Valley State University (GVSU) as an Assistant Professor in the School of Community and Public Service’s Department of Public, Nonprofit and Health Administration. In 2016, she became the Program Coordinator for the Masters of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at GVSU. Her research interests include nonprofit management, the intersection of the public, private and nonprofit sectors and fundraising efficacy.
